Jibraj Asrit was Active, energetic, visionary and exemplary political figure of nepali politics. He was lifelong focused person of nepali communist movement. He was born in Harewa V.D.C - 9, Gulmi in Shrawan 18, 2001 B.S. In spite of active involvement in politics he had also gave high value to his education too. The renown Nepali Politician late Ashrit had did Bachelor Degree from Tribhuvan University.

He was very much interested in politics from his student life. He had become member of Nepal Communist party in 2021 B.S. In an ongoing process of nepali communist movement he had prisoned in Central Jail Kathmandu from 2026 to 2028 B.S. He became a founder member of Nepal Communist party (ML) and politbureau member in 2035 B.S. He had given great contribution to reestablish the democracy in the country at the unfavorable period of non party Panchayati System. After release from the jail he was active in nepali communist movement in the name of Santhosh, Susil, Samir, Prabin, Abhaya etc. due to unconditional political emironment from 2028 to 2046 B.S. He had become politbureau member and chief of organization department of CPN (UML) in 2049 B.S up to till his untimely death.

He was died in Dasdhunga accident in 2050 B.S. with renown and well reputed political personality and General Secretary of CPN (UML) late Madan Bhandari. This incidence is taken as notable event in nepali politics.

To honor the great contribution of late Asrit for the reestablishment of democracy in the country and his devotion towards the nepali communist movement The Postal Services department issue this commemorative Postage Stamp depicting his portrait.
