1) Mahesh Chandra Regmi :
Mahesh Chandra Regmi, a noted scholar of Nepal, was born as the second son to Krishna Chandra Regmi and Padmapriya Devi on 29 December, 1929. He was awarded with the Ramon Magasassey Prize, which is also known as the noble prize of Asia, in 1977 for his writings in history of Nepal in subjects like journalism, literature and communication fields. Mahesh Chandra Regmi established Regmi Research Institute in 1958 A.D., which was a unique idea at that time. The Nepal Press Digest published by this institute has proved to be an influencing magazine on reporting both inside and outside the country. He has also rendered remarkable contributions by writing books on economical history of Nepal. In this regard, it is notable to mention the translation of his book in English "Thatched Hut and Stucco Palaces" into the Japanese language. The Postal Services Department has issued commemorative postage stamp to commemorate his scholarly contributions to the country.

2) Pundit Udayananda Arjyal :
Pundit Udayananda Arjyal was born in Saptari district of Nepal in 1812 B.S. His father, Bisheswor was a teacher (guru) of King Bikram, who was the Sen Monarch of Chaudandi. Pt. Udayananda Arjyal used to write in different languages such as Sanskrit, Nepali, Maithili, Farsi, Urdu and Bhojpuri. He composed famous epic of Prith vindrodaya, which depicted the then social, economic and cultural aspects of Nepal. The other writings of Udayananda include the books like Someshwor Vijaybarnan, Navaratna Stotra, Duswopnaharan, Betal Pacchchisi etc. He was also a noted land surveyor. His contributions to border security, customs management, personal administration, justice and management of arms and ammunitions are notable. Honouring his contribution to the nation, Postal Services Department has issued this commemorative stamps depiciting his portrait.

3) Bhrikuti (617-649A.D) :
Nepalese Princess Bhrikuti was born in 617 A.D as a daughter of Lichchavi King. She was brought up in Kathmandu valley. She was married to the then Tibetan King Srong Btsan Gampo at the age of sixteen in 633 A.D. She went to Tibet with her numerous artists, sculptors, painters together with her Buddhist master Venerable Shila Manju who translated Buddhist scriptures in Tibetan. The Tibetan King built a magnificent Buddhist Monastery called Jokhang Temple dedicated to her in the heart of Lhasa. With her request the Tibetan King built 108 temples in various parts of Tibet. Because of her extensive initiative in the dissemination of Buddhist Culture and Ethics in Tibet, she was venerated as Goddess Tara. The Tibetan King supported Lichchavi King Narendra Deva to put him in the throne in the year 643 A.D. Finally, both the King and the Queen died at the year 649 A.D. She became an immortal figure in the Tibetan religious history for she contributed a lot and was the pioneer in the dissemination of Buddhism and Buddhist Culture in Tibet. Honouring her contribution to our country, Postal Services Department has issued a commemorative Postage Stamp of Bhrikuti.

4) Shivapuri Baba :
Born in Kerala state of India in 1862 A.D., Shivapuri Baba achieved Divinity. After visiting the entire world two times, Baba came to reside at Pashupat Region of Nepal and guided his followers at Shivapuri hills and Sleshmantak Forest (Dhruvasthali) until his death in 1963 A. D., Due to his invaluable teachings, which he preached from the Shivapuri hills, he was popularly Known as Shiyapuri Baba instead or his real name Shree Govindananda Bharati. The chief contribution of Shivapuri Baba to the mankind is his principles of righteous life. According to him, man suffers from three miseries on earth. His principles of righteous life explain three disciplines, for freeing human beings form the aforesaid miseries. Physical-intellectual discipline, the first one which has the virtues to purify health and knowledge, gives dexterity in actions to make life successful. Pleasures from them end along death. Mental -moral Discipline (the second one) frees man from envy and rage; strengthens commanding and controlling powers. It removes worries and derives contentment, out this too ends along death. Similarly Spiritual Discipline, the third and the last one, frees man from Desire and enlightens the individual. It comes through meditation and makes one Omniscient-Omnipotent-Omnipresent-ever blissful and immortal, with the grace of God. Thus, the righteous life is the grand panacea to all human miseries, which ultimately leads all towards the Divine land of no return. The teachings of Shivapuri Baba on righteous life are simple, easy, and desirable to all people, community, religion, and situation. Therefore, with the objective of spreading fame and teachings of such an epoch-making religious personality, Postal Service Department has issued the postage stamp on Shivapuri Baba.

5) Tara Devi :
Late Tara Devi was born on 2nd Magh, 1998 B.S at Indrachowk in Kathmandu. She was the daughter of Krishna Bahadur Karki and Radha Devi. Tara Devi had been deeply interested in singing from the very childhood. Her first recorded song was with (ustad) Bhairab Bahadur She had been involved at the Radio Nepal as a singing artist since 2015 B.S. Tara Devi's melodious voice has deeply moved the hearts of thousands and thousands of listeners She had also sang on the stage and radio many time so she was the noted playback singer for films. The government of Nepal has decorated Tara Devi, with many awards and prizes. She was undoubtably a melody queen of Nepal. She had of opinion that the Nepalese music should follow its own creative genre. She died on 5th Magh 2062. Respecting Tara Devi and her contributions in music, Postal Service Department has issued this commemorative stamp on her name.

6) Music Maestro Ganesh Lal Shrestha :
Ganesh Lal Shrestha was born in the month of Marga, 1958 B.S. in Nepal Even though he lost his eyesight at the age of seven due to smallpox he continued his devotion towards classical music for which he received numerous felicitation and prestigious awards. He was a Harmonium and Tabala Maestro. He used to play with the five harmoniums at same time with both hands, elbows and nose. Late Ganesh Lal Shrestha, used to create different Raga-Raginis using sixteen Tablas. This soulful music mesmerizes people. Even the former prime minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and former prime minister of China, Chou En Lai were delighted to listen to his musical show. He shared his talents among many of his students. Late Ganesh Lal Shrestha was honoured with the title of Baddhya Shiromani (Music Maestro) in 2019 B.S. He passed away on 21st Jestha 2027. In order to commemorate his contribution in music and melody, the Postal Services Department has issued this commemorative postage stamp by depicting his portrait.
