Pemba Doma Sherpa was the first glorious Nepalese woman who conquers the Mt. Everest from the northern side in 2000. She was one of the bravery women in the mountaineering history of Nepal. She was born in Namche V.D.C., Solukumbu in 1970 on the lap of father Ang Kami Sherpa and mother Ang Lhamu Sherpa. She was cared by her grandparents after demise of her mother at the age of two. She had studied in Khumjung school. She had knowledge of nine different languages.

She was also got success to climb Everest from southern side in 2002. After these achievements she was able to register her name among the few women who could climb the Everest from both sides in the world. In another mountaineering summit she had climb the Cho Oyu Mountain in 2005. She was also reputed as a first Nepalese woman to conquer the Lhotse Mountain in 2007.

She was traveled around the world for raising fund to her non profit group 'Save the Himalayan Kingdom', to educate the Nepalese children, regardless the casts. By noting her social work and mountaineering achievements BBC had broadcasting she through documentary and news, and that matter was also followed by other national and international newspaper and magazines.

She was rewarded through 'Saint Vincent Award' by autonomous council of Aosta valeey, Italy on her contributions in related field. This is the highest Award given to Mountain Professionals in Europe.

She was passed away in 21st may, 2007.

To honor her national contributions in mountaineering and social work The Postal Services Department of Nepal issue this commemorative postage stamp depicting her portrait and picture of first step at the highest peak in the world.
